Did my first all-grain batch on Saturday. Gravity came in .010 lower than the recipe indicated it would come in at. Overall it was good experience and I am looking forward for the next one.

What technique/equipment? Did you calculate your efficiency?

My first time, using BIAB and only a small fly sparge, I got about 63%. This past time I just got 68%. Decent considering I didn't buy any additional equipment at all except a paint strainer bag.

I took a hydrometer reading once the beer had cooled after the boil. Used a 5 gal cooler w/ false bottom as a mash tun.

I am in the habit of calculating my post boil SG and adding DME at the start of the boil to get me where I need to be. Some will say that makes me other than an AG brewer. I don't really care.
