JAOM weirdness

I have a very nice-smelling batch of JAOM that has been in primary since November. Yesterday I gave it a look, and the oranges on top had blackened, and up near the neck is an almost clay-like brown goo (I think it is orangified yeast schmutz, but not sure). Will get pictures tonight.

Think its most likely ok?
 
Thanks, I just needed to be talked down from the ledge... lol.

I racked and it looks great. This mead is for my wedding, so I wanted it as close to perfect as possible. My beloved friends and family don't know from mead, however, so I just need a good looking drinkable product that will impair vision and/or judgement...
