Ran across these at a local flea market. 10g stainless milk cans, made by Firestone. At 20 bucks each, I figure they gotta be good for something.

they look link new 6-8 gallon fermenters to me :). they would conduct heat well in the fermentation chamber to keep the beer cooler. and no blow off tube required with all that head space. easy to sanitize. Nice score. I just picked up 6- 6 gallon Italian carboys/with stoppers and airlocks for $100, but I think I like your deal better.
 
Actually, if I add a ball valve, these would make a nice 10g kettle. They're the same gauge as a keggle, I believe.
 
Wow... Hell of a find there. I would weld a 304SS coupler in the bottom, pop a hole in the top for an airlock & ferment away.
