Hi all, I have a noob question for you.

I was taking a hydrometer reading after 1 week in the secondary, and my hydrometer fell all the way to the bottom of my cylinder. Does this mean that I have 0 sugars left? Any advice?
For background, it is my first ever brew, an all zythos IPA, 90 min boil, smack pack, 1 week in primary, 1 week (so far) in secondary.

Thanks!

If it fell all the way to the bottom then either you didn't put enough beer in your cylinder or something is seriously wrong with your hydrometer. I would try it again with more beer in the cylinder so it doesn't touch the bottom. When you test it in plain water does it read about 1.000?

Perfect! Thanks! I filled it a bit more and it read 1.018. I'll leave it another week in the secondary. I took a water reading and it read 1.0 or damn near. Thanks a lot.
