i was brewing some red ale last night and one of my grain bags broke during the steeping process. i got most of the loose grain out of the wort but didn't get it all. will this mishap lead to a bad tasting beer?
 
Shouldn't be a big issue, only a problem if you boiled a bunch of grains but a couple floating around isn't going to be noticeable.
 
Keep a pack of paint strainer bags on hand. At steeping temps you could use a fermentation bucket and strainer to strain it. Then boil as normal.
