Anyone use this yeast or the Wyeast California Lager yeast for anything other than the California Common style. I'm just about to rack that off the yeastcake and am thinking I should do something with the yeast.

I'm mostly curious as to whether or not it would actually make a good lager that is still fermented around 60-64*.

I made a really nice cream ale. Then used the yeast to do a baltic porter. Still carbonating, so I can't tell you how that one came out, yet.

Yeah I figured a baltic or a cream ale would work alright but I'm wondering about a straight up lager

I use it with a schwarzbier (black lager) and its pretty tasty. I ferment a little on the cold side for SF Lager at 57F, but it works well.

i've heard of people doing some stouts with it. i haven't tried it personally though
