Al. will work fine for an HLT
I bought this one http://www.katom.com/175-67560.html. Also picked up a lid for it. I've been very happy with it. Works great for an HLT. It's really light too - which is nice for moving it around and cleaning.

Took me 5 weeks to get my order from Katom.
Just boil water in the pot for about 1/2 hour to build an oxidation layer. It will be gray in color, do not try to scrub it off.
This will keep any metallic flavor from leaching into the water.

I have aluminum and SS for my pot, never could tell a difference.
It also drops heat faster, which is nice if you use an immersion cooler.

The only drawback to aluminum I've read that makes any sense is that you can't really use oxygen based cleaners on them (PBW/Oxyclean). Just keep that in mind if its important to you.
