Too much head

Boy I can't wait to hear the responses to this question :ban:

but I couldn't think of another way to title it. This is my first beer in a keg and I have had all kinds of trouble with different matters. Now my problem is I'm getting about 3/4 glass full of foam and 1/4 beer. What can I do to get this foam down? Turn down the gas? Thanks

How long/thick are your lines? What is the current PSI?

I believe 5/16" lines about 3' long. The PSI was at 16 to 18.

Assuming you are at serving temps (somewhere between 38-45 ish), your PSI is way too high. http://www.kegerators.com/articles/carbonation-table-pressure-chart.php this will tell you what pressure to carb depending on temp. Also, most people here would say 5' lines are too short, so 3' is really short. I would say turn down your CO2 and get longer lines.

Your lines are too big and too short. Look at 10' of 3/16 at 12 psi.

I have never seen 5/16ths beer line so I just assumed it was 3/16ths.
