I have a 5lb co2 bottle and I'm plan On hooking up a 1/2 barrel tonight. When I open the valve, I read 20 lbs on my regulator. Should I go with that or get it refilled just in case.

What regulator do you have? is it reading 20 PSI on the high pressure or low pressure gauge? If it is only showing 20 PSI on the high pressure gauge your tank is effectively empty and needs to be filled. New tanks are never shipped full of C02.

Is it a single gauge regulator? If so, 20 psi is the output, not the tank pressure. With only one gauge you have to know the empty tank weight and then weigh the tank to check the status.
