Yay, my yearly supply arrived today. Leaf hops not my fav, but the price was good. 2011 is going to be brewing mania around here.
6lbs btw.

Wow that is AWESOMEEEEEE

Did you just order a bunch or did you actually plan out the usage?

Plan schman, I just grab a bunch and run! I do know some of the recipes I want to re-brew, but it's mostly seat of the pants. That's why I got mostly 4-8oz packages, pounds of one kind of hops is to limiting for me.

I have no idea what I will brew this year, I just buy hops and make it work.

I buy Magnum, Centennial, Cascade, Northern Brewer, Amarillo, and Fuggles in bulk. Those hops fit my brewing style and I make recipes around the hops. I also use Magnum and cascade for my wit and fuggles for my Hefe. Sounds weird, but it turns out great.

When you get hops for $8-10 a pound you can use 10oz of hops in an IPA and not feel guilty about it too. I save about $200/year buying bulk and substituting.
