Length of Blow Off Tube?

I am using the orange universal caps with a blow off tube for my Hefeweizen. My LBHS store sold me 3' lengths. I think the length is too long as is creates a loop before it goes into my 1/2 gallon growler. Is this OK or should I shorten the length to remove the loop?
 
Holy Crap! My blow tubes are working perfectly; and I am glad that I used them for the Hefe. Foam is spewing out of the tubes into my growler.
