I use Brewtarget software, but I'm still learning it. How do I figure the efficiency on this first batch?

6 lb German Pilsner Malt
4 lb Red Wheat
60 minute mash at ~149 F

Post boil the SG was 1.044 at 5 gallons. I forgot to get a preboil SG.

Plug in your recipe, then adjust the efficiency setting until the OG matches what you measured. I am getting 58% for your numbers.

Oh there it is. The funny thing is the target OG according to the kit instructions (AHS) was 1.051. According to BrewTarget that was "slightly malty", now with the corrected OG it says "balanced"

I already have two more kits to try to better my system on. Thanks for the help.

I just read that mash temps to the lower end of the scale can take longer to convert. I mashed right around 148 +/-. Could that cause low conversion on a 60 minute mash?

I was shooting for 150, but I hit it high (158) then added a bit too much ice and ended up with 148 so I said f- it, I'm rolling with it.
