The Mazer Cup International 2013 - Mead Only Competition - Call for Entries

The Mazer Cup International is a BJCP & AHA sanctioned mead-only competition open to all home meadmakers.

When may I enter?
Entry Deadline is March 1, 2013 (less than a month away, so don't delay) and entries are open NOW!

Why should I enter?
This is a World Class Mead Competition with judging by some of the best known mead
luminaries in the world.
Judges supply feedback about the quality of your mead and suggestions on how to improve it.
The chance to win one of the coveted Mazers awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each category.
Winners also get bragging rights as the best home mead makers in the world!


The Public Tasting Event is ON!
2013 will see the introduction of the MEAD MIXER, a commercial mead tasting which will be open to the general public. Tickets go on sale soon; check the MCI website for more details!

Is this a points comp or just 1st 2nd and third for each group, so if 500 people enter one category there is only 3 awards? WVMJ

Standard BJCP competition rules apply, but we reserve the right to subdivide categories with excessive entries into subcategories along logical boundaries. For example, we have in the past split the Other Fruit Melomels into Berry and non-Berry subcategories. Each subcategory will be awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, as well as having the 1st place eligible for Best of Show.
