Brewed a red citra ipa 3.5weeks ago. Bottled today and it was not red at all, more gold colored.

Any advice on why this may be???

6lb gold dme
Steep:
1lb carared
.5lb bucuit
2oz roasted barley

Us05

4oz citra over 1hr

It still tastes good, just not the look I wanted

I typically use vienna as my base grain for red ales, and also add in rye as well.

Here is a picture during bottling

I know that why I was so surprised! I ordered from brewmasters warehouse, could they have sent thenwrong stuff? I've brewed with roasted bar before it seemed to be the same stuff

I've never used them before, but anyone could make a mistake. Looks to me like it wasn't included...

Interesting idea. The others were crushed but I can't remember about the roasted bar. It's was only 2oz so I didn't look too hard just assumed it was crushed

As for the color is was brown. Boiled 2.5 gallons.
