Dahoov, insane! I'm guessing that's how you got the pictures for my little contest?

Indeed it is. I thought about sending you some pictures with the instruments in the shot but figured it would detract from the scenery too much.

How do you get towed up to altitude? Do you have to pay someone for that?

I either pay for a tow from a towplane. (That is me in the towplane). This is the most expensive way. For a 2000 foot above ground level tow I pay about $50.

I pay for a winch launch. This is $20 for whatever launch altitude the conditions permit. Usually about 1800 feet above ground level.

Or I have 3000 feet of rope and can use my 4-Runner to launch in a similar way to running with a kite. This only costs me gas money and a couple home brews for someone to drive my 4-Runner. This naturally is my preferred method. If the runway is long enough I can get a 2000 foot above ground launch.

My profession and main hobby is pretty much anything techie... programming, building computers or other electronic stuff, gaming, graphics work, spending way too much time surfing forums, etc. The upside of loving what you do is you do it well, the downside is you never stop, lol.

Some pretty cool hobbies/obsessions you all have.

My main obsession is probably saltwater fishing. We have one of the best spots in the world for bottom fishing.f

I'm also into surfing in warm months and snowboarding in the winter.

Others include gardening, beekeeping and golfing. Pretty standard stuff.

Now it's just all things cooking and recently smoking meat.

Can't ride any more and it's rather tough to show "rebuilding a house". Then there's the ongoing attempts to get my company out of the mud. First product was a bomb and the second has gone through two design teams. But, soon ...

as the screen name says, diving and underwater shipwreck photography.

That is awesome! For some reason, diving scares me... I've been skydiving, bungee jumping, you name it, and would try just about anything, but the thought of diving just makes me uncomfortable. But pics like this make me want to jump in.

No ocean for me either. Literally all of my friends dive, and it sucks to not go with them, but I have what I would describe as a terrified respect for the ocean. The Pacific is a 45 minute drive for me, I like to look at it but have no desire to go in.

Could be because half a dozen people die every year abelone diving, with the occasional great white attack.

Softball, softball, and more softball...gets expensive though. Play all over the Midwest.

Motorcycles. I'm not a huge fan of fixing them but I love riding them :D Unfortunately my two hobbies are mutually exclusive. I wont ride if I've even had just a single beer.

I love cooking. I do it in the Army but for fun I also do it in my free time.
Everyone was showing pictures of guns so I figured I'd show the last thing I shot.
I also like cigars but for some reason I don't have a picture on my phone. I guess that way it's harder for her to prove how many I really have.
I spend as much time with my family as I can. My 4 yo and 13 yo keep me busy.

Shooting it is kind of crazy. No kick feelings kinda fake. I've shoot it all over though and I trust it.

I've always like shooting it, even with just the TP rounds. The sickest thing about it is being able to watch the rounds as they fly to the target.

One of my hobbies... Building arcades... plays over 13000 games... I know... THink I put this somewhere before, but always good to share...

I'd have to say my main hobby is trying hobbies  Recently started hunting this past deer season. First time out, first shot fired at a living thing, got a doe. Hooked. This was my first gun as well. Since then I've got a 22 revolver and a Marlin 22 rifle. Anxious to go shoot them next weekend.

Old hobbies that I miss the most. Tournament Paintball and the dirtbike that I stupidly decided to sell before my first child was born. Paintball, I've let go. The bike will be mine again!

I tried hunting for the first time this year as well. Haven't been that lucky though.

Ft. Carson? What unit? I was in 10th Group from '98-'01.

Yeah at Carson. I'm in 1-2 AVN. It's my first AVN unit. It's different. That pic of the pig was a 117 lb pig for organizational day.

I have way to many hobbies. My girlfriend tells me my hobbies are finding new hobbies :) Im a tech geek, gearhead, gun lover, adrenaline junkie, photographer, etc. These are only the few hobbies I had pictures for. I am in the process of buying my first house, debating on getting my private pilots license, and HOMEBREW! Homebrew being the newest of hobbies :)
