Mounting Propane Burners

How far away from the bottom of the kettle should you mount Propane burners? I read around on the Net and Have found several diffrent answers..

These are the Burners I have..

I usually go 4". Believe that's the manufacturer's recommendation on the banjo burners I use.
 
I agree. Mine are adjustable and I keep them about 4" away. Any closer and I don't get a clean flame.
