Hey guys, bottled my first batch of apfelwein last week. I decided to pop one open and give it a taste test. Interestingly, there is almost zero carbonation in it. I know I added priming sugar, so that is not the problem.

Does it take longer than beer?

Thanks for any info!!!

Do you use corn sugar, carb drops or something else and how much per gallon?
Thanks,
Sue

I used what's probably a bit too much concentrate, and at 2 weeks I was definitely over-carbed. It was on the warm side though.

Corn sugar, and I use 3/4th a cup for a 5 gallon batch, as per EdWort's original recipe.

If you want to bottle and carbonate, ¾ cup of corn sugar will work fine. Use as you would carbonate a batch of beer.
