Yeast Starter in Pyrex Jar?

I was going to do my yeast starter in a large Pyrex container (sanitized of coarse) with foil over the op. Anyone try this? Any possible problems I may encounter with this?
 
As long as it's clean you'll be good. Just don't boil the wort in it. From what I have read, they don't make Pyrex like they used to and it will shatter. I was going to go the pyrex route too, but ended up going with an Erlenmeyer. Good luck.
 
I use quart Mason jars with foil on top. I just give them a little swirl from time to time. Seems to work, the fermentation takes off like a rocket.
 
I like the idea of mason jars.

I would suggest flipping the lid upside down so it forms a slightly imperfect seal when you screw the ring on. Ive done this when I sterilize agar so the steam can penitrate the lid.
