Pump Control Box

I am currently building a HERMS system but am looking to keep it manual. However, I do need to control the dual pumps. Where would I go to find out how to wire a control box for the pumos?

A great idea but I'm looking to have a standard control box since they are already mounted to my brew rig.

Or instead of hardwiring the pumps to the switches inside of the box, you could plug the pumps into outlets that are controlled by the switches.

The wiring is straight forward. Split the hot side into the two switches, those feed the hot side of the outlets. The neutral of both outlets feeds back to the plug in. Also a good idea to feed the ground back from the switches back to the in plug.

So how about something as simple as this switched panel. I've used this on my brew cart for years. I have a switch for the pumps, the RIMS heater, the PID and even the stereo. The whole thing is plugged into a GFCI outlet.

Reminds me of my band days when a power rack was required. Although, come to think of it, we just used a power conditioner with a single switch. Never mind.

I think I may go with this idea. I can get a 4 switch one on amazon for 15 bucks. Add a GFCI with it and I'm good to go.

The text description is correct but the picture shows the switched hot wires incorrectly going to the neutral side of the receptacles. Be sure to connect the switched hot wires to the hot side - the side with the narrow slot - to the right in the picture.

I am also at this stage of making a brew stand... I wanted to go with a partial control panel to control just my chugger pumps for the time being. Down the road I may add PIDs for temp controls.

Could I use these switches? I have not seen any information regarding the amp draw of the chugger pumps vs these switches:

I would use one for "Main" power and two others for two pumps. I can build a control box with switches, lights and incoming power which will be plugged into a GFCI circuit.

Of course I appreciate any input anyone can give me on the switches.

That is perfect. Mine has been mounted under my steel brew cart since 2009 and it stays dry. I simply roll that over to my brew kettle stand where I can run my temp probes and connect hoses and have never had a problem. The GFCI in the garage makes me feel a lot better.
 
awesome idea but i would be so nervous of this thing not working out..I have a GFCI switch but would still be concerned it would crap out somehow.. Also I have a single tier brew system...thinking how the heck would i mount this thing?

I'm gonna build some time of box for it. That way the plugs aren't exposed at all.
 
I have each of mine wired to their own switch, then joined in a common junction that plugs into the wall.
