I'm making an American cream ale this weekend and was seeing if there was anything I could do to make it have a higher alcohol content with out making it taste like crap, it's a brewers best extract kit, abv is showing it will be between 5.3 and 5.8 and I usually like my beer between 6 and 7, any help on this is appreciated thanks

Add corn sugar or very light DME. Note that if you add it preboil that you will need to adjust you hop schedule/amounts to get the same IBU's. some just add the corn sugar for the last few minutes of the boil to make it easier. American cream ale is traditionally made with a size able portion of corn, so it's appropriate for style. Try and learn.
