The rubber gasket between the air lock and the lid ripped, so I got a new one, and put it on. It doesn't seem to be holding the seal correctly. I've done a few batches, and the airlock doesn't bubble at all.

1. Anybody had this problem?

2. Is this a big deal?

3. Anybody have a quick fix?

I would get rid of the bucket and buy a 6 gallon glass carboy as a primary... I have about 8 of them right now and could not be happier with the results.

you might try a little keg lube on it, in the worse case your airlock just wont bubble, you will still have been when your done.
I have a bunch of glass carboys and use them only when my better bottles are full. If I had to start over it would be better bottles all the way.

It isn't a problem. Keg lube might help. I'd pull the gasket and work some lube into the groove, then put it back.
