Tight ey.

I have no idea what you said - it could be because you are speaking australianese or because I'm old and not hip with the kids. :ban::ban::ban::ban::ban::ban:

The pics look great, hope it turns out the way you want. And welcome to HBT!

Welcome, Outciders (David, David & Alex)! How long have you been making cider? I have yet to make my first batch, because I am still gathering up my info and bottles. Don't want to start it up without having the bottles on hand.

Pappers, don't feel bad about not understanding what they said, I only got about half of it too! LOL If you are over 50, we have a hard time understanding the new "English" spoken. That is of course, if you are use to hanging out with the younger ones and have pickup on the lingo. Hell, I am still trying to get the brewing terms right.

Bubbles = krausen
malt = DME
rebottle = racking

LOL

Which state do you live in OldMate?

Thanks for the welcome MeadWitch. We have been making cider for roughly 6 weeks now.
Sorry if the initial post was too contemporary. Ya'll will pick up da lingo!

We do enjoy fine cigars with out home brew. Unfortunately the Australian government taxes us ever so heavily on cigars imported from the US. Oh well :)

hmm, yeeeaaa,
I read the first post and had no idea what the heck you where were saying, but the cider looks good.
I really do envy people who can get some fresh cold pressed apples. I hope it comes out fantastic, the pic's really made the post.
Thanks for sharing.

Well gees,

Inside the fermenter lies a coopers lager kit plus one kilo of brown sugar.

The demi-john contains hard cider made from pink lady apples and champagne yeast plus about 50 grams of sugar.

The glorious looking beverage in the grolsch bottle is made from a blackrock cider kit.

Stay tuned for further updates on new endeavors and let us know your thoughts on our current setup.

In the meantime, we've been furthering our enterprise. Here's what we have in store..

Here we have Harvey working his magic with sparkling grape juice, 3 punnets of strawberries, 50g of sugar, and half a packet of champagne yeast. Good golly, this sounds even tastier than the last!

While these concoctions are several weeks away from drinking, it shan't be long now until we are sampling our original hard apple cider!!

I have no idea what you just said but I'm going to give my hand at responding to this. Yo dawg fo shiznitaz hav fizzun fo da rizzun drinkin dat cizzun out da shiznitz...now that's a knoife.

Just a plain ol' hard cider, 27 litres of pasteurised apple juice (straight from the orchard) and around 1.5 Kg of brown sugar (we might be phasing some out with some honey). I'll take some photos and show you how stylin' us NSWers are.

Definitely let me know how those recipes turn out, brodudes.

Let's bring this **** back.

Yellow gum honey, one kilo, some white sugar, blackrock whispering wheat kit.
Should be tasty. We're going to add hops just before it the kit has finished fermenting.

Yum. What have you Gees got happeninG? :fro: :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross: :cross: :drunk:

I'm so glad that your cider looks cloudy. Mine does too. How long do you think it will be before it clears? Or will it remain cloudy?

Hey boys another aussie here from the west ...
Just threw on my first cider just a can of black rock cider..
But next week I was going to have a crack at
a can of black rock,a few litres of apple juice and some pink ladies quartered and chucked in for good measure.
That pink brew with the strawberries looks off its head.
What was in your hard cider is that just straight up juice and sugar?

:rockin:
