This Sunday on the brewing network, the topic will be choosing and using specialty malts and adjuncts. I for one, will definitely be tuning in. Jamil is gonna be back. So if you're like me, not really sure when and how to use these malts, this should be a good show.

Woah, so black barley and black patent you wouldn't mash in an AG recipe?? What do you do? Steep them when you start the boil? I don't understand the Y N on the mash column.

EDIT: In reference to the link above.
 
It is more of whether or not you must mash. You can use black barley and black patent in an extract recipe by steeping them. In an AG batch you would include those grains in your mash.
