here is my recipe idea, 10 gallon
18lbs marris otter
2lbs quick oats
1lb crystal 60L
1lb crystal 40L
1/4-1/2lb chocolate
4 oz cascade 60 min (home grown no idea what aau)
1 oz fuggles 30 min
1 oz fuggles 10 min
1 oz cascade 0 min
nottingham dry yeast

single infusion 60 min rest 156
7 gallons 174 strike temp
2 batch spares 4.5 gallons 180

what effect would some black patten malt have if I dont have enough chocolate. I know its out of style just a thought.

wow Im really on my own with this one

Im thinking about mashing a little thicker may be 1qt a lb and doing a mash out.

the more I think about that hop schedule the more I want to scale back.

I have no idea how home grown hops will be in this beer but I guess Im gonna find out.
 
I think there was an article in BYO a few months back about using oatmeal....there may have been a recipe for a brown in there.
