I've got a 40qt kettle I want to add a 12" round false bottom to. What's the best way to connect it to my ball valve? I use the same false bottom in my 10 gallon mash tun with a drilled stopped and some red tubing. I'm just worried that if i use the tubing on the kettle, it may mess up when I'm having to boil for 60 minutes

I'm assuming you're talking about the 12" domed false bottom. Get some Silicone tubing and a hose barb. Connect one end to the FB and the other to the backside of the valve coupler. Silicone is good to 500F
