yeast counting

today we where looking at some yeast for the first time, and i thought i would share some of the pix. we still need to get a finer grid or something for counting. anyone have any suggestions on the best grid size to get? (sry about the pix its kind of hard with a phone)

I was going to suggest you load the pict into a paint program and put a grid overlay on... multi step and might have other problems but a thought

thanks i think ill try that, cant really think what problems that would cause, might even make it easier to count if i made the pic nice and big

Loading a grid overlaying a picture is not a proper count. You do not know the volume of the sample you are viewing. Haemocytometers can be had for cheap on Ebay. Definitely recommended.
