- Nice hoppy APA. Was going for a higher alcohol APA with a strong hoppy aroma.

0.50 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Boil 60.0 min Hop 5 16.2 IBUs
0.50 oz Goldings, East Kent [5.00 %] - Boil 15.0 Hop 7 7.3 IBUs
0.50 oz Goldings, East Kent [5.00 %] - Boil 5.0 Hop 8 2.9 IBUs
0.50 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Dry Hop 9.0 Days Hop 10 0.0 IBUs
0.50 tsp Irish Moss (Boil 15.0 mins) Fining 6 -
1.0 pkg Nottingham (Danstar #-) [23.66 ml] Yeast 9 -
Mashed at 150 for 75 minutes, mash out at 170 for 10 minutes.
Fermented in Mr. Beer fermentor for 5 days, then dry hopped with Cascade.
Waited 6 days, then did a cold crash for 3 days. Bottled two weeks after brew day.
I tried one a week after bottle date and it was very good. Fellow homebrewer was over and he enjoyed it as well. Now, its been bottled 4 weeks and is even better!
It has a nice fruity, hoppy aroma thanks to the cascade and late EKGs.
Tasted very nice, balanced, ending with a nice mellow malty splash, not too sweet.
The alcohol was noticeable at 7.8% with the earlier bottles, but now it has mellowed out and balances out nicely.
One extra note: I did not design this with any particular beer in mind and only found out after the fact that this beer is quite similar to EdWort's Haus Pale Ale.
