I have an idea for a label involving spray paint. Basically I want to create a template and spray a single color picture onto the bottle. Will any old spray paint stick to the glass?
Can I spray paint a bottle?

Get a few test bottles and few types of paint and go for it. Worst case you are out a few bottles.
I'm almost positive that I saw a special spray paint for applying to glass at the Depot.

Most likly you will find glass paint at your local hobby store. Somewhere you can get models and such .... glass painting is a hobby of a buddy of mine, he gets his paints from a place that sells D&D/warhammer stuff believe it or not.

I tried searching online and found many resources on frosting glass, paintings of wine bottles and full oil paintings on wine bottles but very little on spray paint specifically for glass. I have a few cans of regular old paint downstairs which I guess I can try painting on some bottles?
