Any thoughts on this setup? I have not done all grain yet but am setting up for it. I figured it would be easier to use flexible copper tubing and cap it. Wasn't sure if I would have trouble bending once the slots were cut. It kinked up a bit, but with just water it drains 5 gallons in three minutes. Put a 1/2" I.d. drain on it.

When it finishes draining to the level of the valve, there are 28oz left in the tun. Is that to be expected or should the valve be lower? (Not that I could change the existing hole in the cooler)

I dont think there is a correct answer....its just the way your system is. I think mine leaves 32oz behind. Just make sure you compensate for the 28oz when you are figuring out your water volume!
