For everyone out there with their own grain mill, how will un-cracked grain last if kept in a sealed container?
My local shop has a 10% off sale coming up and I figure it's probably the best time to stock up on a Sam's Club type grain purchase of my favorites in 55# sacks. I don't even have a mill yet, but I'll be getting one soon and I don't want to pass up this sale. Too bad mills aren't included in this discount.
My question is, if I keep it un-cracked and in a sealed container, how long will it last? What about wheat?
I imagine quite a while, but long enough to use a couple hundred lbs?
