Just needed some opinions on taste testing. Made a batch of apfelwein in a brew bucket. I removed the airlock inserted my sterilized tube and siphoned out enough for a gravity test and a rocks glass full for tasting, sterilized my airlock and put it back in.
Some recent reading on other sites leads me to worry about oxidization, but I wanted some real opinions. (i dont have a wine thief before you ask)

as long as you didn't splash the beer, you didn't oxidize it. a wine thief is handy, but not a required tool.

I do prefer it for grabbing samples from a carboy, vs. a turkey baster.

wasnt enough in the test tube for a group sample (swmbo and friends)

and thanks for the turkey baster suggestion, i had never thought of or read of that.
