my cider press

Here are some pics of my cider press. I used it last fall and turned two bushels into 6 gallons.
To make the base I took a wash basin and heated up a spot with a lighter and poked a hole in it with a screw driver to create a funneled hole. The separators are cutting boards, the uprights are clothes hangers and the bags are no-see-um netting (I also sew outdoor equipment). The hook attached to my drill definitely sped things up a bit. The apples were ground with a food processor. This fall I intend to make a garbage disposal grinder.

Very nice. A press is on my 'to do' list. This looks like a nice one; elegant simplicity.

That is a very good design, i like the use of guide rails. how long did it take start to finish to make the six gallons?
