I had it for the first time other day and i like it. But i detected a hint of smoky flavor. Does anyone know if that is a yeast character or a small amount of smoked malt.
 
Saisons are typically fermented very warm, much warmer than ales usually are. What you are picking up are esters, phenolics and higher alcohols from the yeast. Smoky flavors are a type of phenol.
