Some people do, but it is not the norm, and is usually used for either extremely long beer lines (like in bars) or for serving stouts/etc on nitro from special stout faucets. If you are going for a simple, normal kegging setup then you want plain CO2, NOT the so called 'beer gas'.

Not only that but you'll need a special regulator for "beer gas" as opposed to regular CO2 and the "beer gas" is at least 2X as expensive.
Cintas charges $37.50 for 5 lbs. "beer gas" and $18 for regular CO2. I can get a 10 lb. tank exchanged at the local gas shop for $12.
