I have some leftover ingredients, and want to work on a partial mash (practice makes perfect?), so I kind of just threw this together. Don't really know what style I would call it, but I guess that's half the fun. This recipe is calculated for a 2.0 gal batch, partial mash.
1.0 lbs. Light DME
1.0 lbs. Wheat DME

8.0 oz American 2-row
2.0 oz Biscuit
2.0 oz Special B
2.0 oz Flaked Wheat

0.5 oz Nugget (60min)
0.2 oz Chinook (60min)
0.2 oz Nugget (15min)
0.2 oz Chinook (15min)
0.2 oz Chinook (Flameout)
0.2 oz Chinook (Dry hop 10 days)
Yeast - WLP001 California Ale, 500ml starter w/ stir plate
I have read about difficulties with partial mash and small quantities of ingredients such as this. I am planning to mash in 2 qts and adding to my boil pot for a starting volume of 2.5 gals. Would it be better to mach in 1.0 gal and add it to 1.5 gals in the boil pot?
criticism welcome !
