I ordered the Austin Homebrew Nut Brown kit and am going to add some hazelnut extract at bottling.

I've been toying with adding just a little cold-steeped coffee as well. Not much, just enough for a hint.

Anyone have suggestions, thoughts, positive input telling me this isn't such a bad idea?

Thanks in advance.

The beer is finish. I added less that a 1/4 ounce of extract. Pouring it into the bottling bucket made the batch smell like liquor. I was a little worried but it tastes ok. Nothing special. Didn't have time to add coffee.

I've been looking for a good hazelnut extract too. I tried the one from Austin Home Brew, added the entire bottle to a big porter and couldn't taste it at all.

I pick it up from my LBHS and add between 1 tsp and 1 tbsp to 5 or 6 gallons.

You could try a baking supply store.
