Did anybody else see this, last night, on the National Geographic cable channel...?

Very good stuff, depicting the typical small living spaces there, one consequence being that you end up doing some entertaining outside of the home...!
Clever, expandable furniture.
Vending machines everywhere, for everything -- I did read elsewhere that some of the offerings border on the bizarre.

Don't we have a Japanese brew brother/sister, here, anyway..?

Thanks for the heads up on this.
I've got to check it out as I'm always interested in these types of shows.
I've traveled abroad some, but have yet to get to Asia.
Japan/China/India (and more)....I really want to visit someday.

On a similar note, I was watching "No Reservations" a while back and I think it was Hong Kong where the majority (something like over %80) eats out just about every meal because the homes are so small they don't really have a 'kitchen'.

I should try to record that National Geographic thing when it airs again. Thx!

Yep, there are some members here from Japan. The spaces can be small, but outside major cities it is not insane.

Yes you can get ANYTHING in a vending machine; from beer to used womens underwear, from 22lb bags of rice to
batteries.
