Hey All,

I ordered a Wyeast from NB last week, and when I got the package the ice pack melted and the yeast packet was partially inflated. Not fully inflated, but it had some air in it...think its still good? Anyway to save it?

Cheers,
Saul

Sounds fine.

When you make the starter (if the beer is above 1.042 or so), you'll see right away if the yeast is viable or not. My bet is that it's fine.

I had a similar experience ordering the Wyeast sake yeast. I ordered the ice pack and the bubble mailer but it was still warm when I received it and slightly inflated. The yeast worked fine though. That tiny ice pack I can imagine maybe keeps the thing cold for a couple hours, but certainly not for the days it takes in the mail.
