Is this a good Cali Common recipe?

9.75 Lbs US 2 row pale
1 LB Crystal 80
1/2 Lb Crystal 120
2 oz Pale Chocolate
1.3 oz Northern Brewer 60 min
.6 oz NB 15 min
1 oz NB 0 min
Yeast Wyeast 2112

Estimated OG 1.054
Estimated FG 1.016
Estimated IBU 40.5
Estimated SRM 14.2

I have two CC recipes posted, but I'd say that I like the "toasty" flavors in it- with victory malt or biscuit malt. This one is a total ripoff from Jamil Zainasheff, and it's my favorite: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f63/california-common-hbt-comp-winner-1st-place-141137/

If you like it, it's good. My suggestions would be to delete the dark crystal and chocolate and cut the Crystal 80L amount in half.

Hmmm..When I do that, it takes it below the color range for the style.

Most if not all of the recipe software understates the color of the beer IMO. If you don't think it will be dark enough use a little more of the 80L and/or a tablespoon (1/2 ounce) of Carafa or chocolate.

I'd get rid of the C120.

I won a ribbon using Jamil's Cali common from Brewing Classic Styles. It's good. I see you have the northern brewer in your recipe. That's good, can't sub for this style. Good luck.
