Sounds good. I use mrmalty when making starters but I just have never used a slurry before. Thanks for the advice. I will be brewing this up on the weekend so I will post results when it is finished.

I just put 5 gallons of this in bottles. OG was a little high - 1.052 and the FG finished at 1.010. I did add some extra grain when mashing but now I am getting better efficiency with my BIAB set up....

Nice to hear that other people use coolers with biab. I do it to help me control my temps better. It has worked good so far and I am getting better results with each brew.

I agree, there is more than one way to skin a cat. I do what works best for me in my limited experience. I'm sure my technique will evolve as I do more and more all grain brewing.

I don't know what you'd call what I did then. I found it easier to keep my temps steady by using a 5 gallon cooler with a bag holding the grains. I used an auto siphon to drain the wort and sparged....
