I rigged up an Arduino PID and used it to cook sous vide chicken breast the same afternoon. It helped that I already knew how to measure temperature with a DS18B20.

L14-30 & L6-30 flanged inlets, connectors, plugs, receptacles

Do you need L14-30 hardware for your power controller? These pieces saw use in theatrical audio and lighting equipment and look clean and in good shape. I'll update with pictures later today.

Looks good to me. I might have been tempted to go with just the fan inside the PSU, but having 2 fans certainly won't hurt.

If it's any consolation, I made exactly the opposite mistake. I wanted to cut 7/8" holes and got a 1/2" chassis punch. Doh!

I would like to see one, but I'm not too bothered that I didn't go that route in the end. I was always going to build a dedicated brewery controller, and portability was important for the smoker...

That's right, when the pump starts up it can draw more power than it is rated for so it's best to leave a little overhead. I know people have been running 14W pumps off a 12V@2A power supply...

Haven't tried it. I would say that power supply is OK for 1 pump. For $2 more you can get a 5A supply, I would go for that for 2 pumps.

Watch out because conduit punch sets make holes that are larger than the nominal size.

Radio chassis punches make a hole that is the same as the nominal size.

If in doubt look up the part...

I agree. Just in general I don't see much advantage to measuring volume/flow automatically unless you have automated valves, and for that you need to go beyond Kal's system.

Usually you can fix pinhole leaks in solder joints by brushing a bit of flux and heating up gently until the solder flows. You'll have to undo the plastic bits and drain it first of course.
