I remember my first beer being awesome. But then again I don't really remember what it tasted like. I think it was more the novelty that it was something I made myself.

At higher temps, CO2 well come out of solution. You need to crank the pressure up. There's a nice chart out there somewhere that shows volumes of CO2 based on pressure and temp. Google it

Did you take OG readings? What were they? The enzymes that convert starch into sugar are denatured at those temps so I'd be surprised if you got much if any conversion

I think that should be fine. I did a starter last night too and plan to cold crash it Thursday night. I like to give it at least a 24 hour crash. Slainte!
