Brew Buckets, Ale Pails, whatever you call them make fine secondarys. The only down side (for me, at least) is that you can't see the beer clear.

Some people will tell you to soak the bottles overnight in hot water and PBW or Oxyclean. That'll work but I prefer my method.

I go to my LHBS and buy a case of empties for about $12.00.

I mostly keg my beer but it really depends on what I brew. For instance, I'm not going to keg a Barley Wine. There are some others that I routinely bottle as well because I don't drink them...
