As far as the caster attachments, they are in my plans. They are called leveling tubes, tube inserts, or threaded inserts, McMaster Carr part number...

I am pretty sure this thing is two molded parts actually. There is the outer cap itself, and an inner molded insert that houses the poppet. I don't think there would be a way to mold this thing solid...
