I have heard a few people say that nothing can live in honey. This isn't strictly true. Nothing can GROW in honey. Yeast has a fancy cell wall that can keep out much of that sugar, and wild yeast...

Lead doesn't dissolve as well in water as some people think. I think that would be double if the lead is in a solid solution with glass, which is pretty darn inert. I wouldn't be too worried.

So that is 2 3/4 lb of specialty grain in an extract recipe. That's double what I have ever used before. I realize that some of that "specialty" grain is maris otter which is really just base malt....
