My 2 that grew last year were planted on fothers day also. I only got about 4' of growth, but they have already sprouted 2 healthy bines each this year.

Last year I got 2 rhizomes in the ground on fathers day. I only got about 3' of growth, but at least they are already in the ground for this year. I am still not expecting a huge harvest this year...

I would stay away from using molasses. From my experience its taste and aroma overpowers everything else. I found that plain table sugar was the best sweetener.
