Yes, the fermenter is 30 liters. The coopers recipes make 23 liters (approx. 6 gallons) so it fills up around 3/4 or so. Plenty of room for a nice krausen.

The brew enhancer 2 has no hops and won't carmelize like the can of extract would.

That does include a batch of lager (with "Brewing Sugar" - that *I* thought was a decent lager) as well though. Even if you don't need a 'fermometer' (~$2?) or a hydrometer (~$10) or a good plastic...

IMHO, to do better than the coopers fermenters you would have to go to a conical fermenter (preferably SS) which is a huge leap in cost. I still feel that coopers gave me the biggest bang for my buck...
