Looking for a small/table-beer extract recipes

Hi,

Does anyone have any extract recipes for a low-alcohol beer (AKA small-beer, table-beer in Belgium)? I figure if I'm going to drink the amount I did last night on a regular basis I should try...

Is this dry or liquid? It seems like quite a low amount, but presumably that's because it's a mild so lower gravity?. Sorry, still a bit of a n00b.

Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I'm not really prepared to warm up a box with any electrical device; I've already had one heater-pad that overheated and melted its plastic casing. I realise...

Too cold to carbonate; can I wait?

Hi,

It's been relatively cool here in Sydney, not getting above 16c/60F for a couple of months. I made a batch of APA anyway and fermented it with a heater belt which worked out fine. However...

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I don't have any sort of secondary vessel; they're not used as much in Australia and most starter kits don't come with one.

The yeast is safale-05, and it was...

Thanks everyone.

The beer has already been in primary for two weeks; unfortunately I'm not in a position to do a secondary (I was under the impression it was largely optional for ales anyway). I...

Very cloudy APA

I've brewed an extract APA and it's been in the fermenter for two weeks now. The samples are tasting good, but it's very cloudy, it looks a bit like a river mud. I've placed the sample in the...

Conditioning temperature

Hi,

I've made a batch of extract APA with Safale-05 yeast. It's getting pretty cold here in Sydney so I've put the fermenter on a heat pad and it's holding in the low 20s (celsius, ~70s F). I'm...

I've actually had that sitting next to me at work where a cow-orker left it but hadn't looked at it (he didn't rate it very highly). I've just had a flick through and noticed the Anchor Steam recipe...

Yep, I've wrapped the fermenter but it's still idle. I'm concerned about your 'killed' comment; I was under the impression that yeast would just lay dormant at that temperature, not actually die?

This bit confuses me. I see this a lot, including in John Palmer's book, but the yeast instructions say to pitch directly into the wort?

I think where I've got the wrong end of the stick is the lipid issue. My understanding is that aerating the wort is necessary as the yeast need the oxygen to generate lipids for budding during the...

Dry yeast aeration?

I'm planning on doing my first extract brew this weekend. I'm using an APA kit from the LHBS and it comes with Safale-US05. I've seen in passing somewhere that dry-yeast has been pre-aerated so the...
