You won't get much flavor from non caramelized lactose. Its worth the steps if that's the flavor you're looking for.

That's plenty of motion. But since the bars are magnetized on either end, I think you'll have better luck stacking them 2 high and positioning them where the magnets are on the bar vs laying them end...
