Most homebrewers are to much of a gadget whore to save any real money. I like to pretend I didn't spend as much as I did on equipment. I like to pretend my wife doesn't know either. 😉

I switched to all grain recently too. My beers have been much clearer than with extract sooner. 2-3 weeks its very clear compared to 6-8 weeks with extract. No idea why. I still only used irish moss

I once dry hopped a beer for a week with an undrilled carboy bung. it would keep popping out all week. carboy was left open for hours at a time. I would just clean it and put it back in every time....

This happened to me. Thought beer was done at 1.015. Transfered to dry hop for a week with 2 oz of hops gravity dropped another 3 pts to 1.012. I lost alot of the hop aromas too.
